I Told You So

In the no shit sherlock moment of the week CNET is calling bullshit to reports that the iPhone will be available on a pre paid basis from AT&T. We don't think IPhone and prepaid belong in the same sentence. Just imagine the little trac phone display at RiteAid first you have the $19 Moto and the $39 Nokia and then the $599 dollar 8GB iPhone??? What's wrong with this picture??

We were on top of this yesterday and one of our posters Ron even started a flame war over at the BGR. Ha ha ha...

Come on people do you live in America or what?

For Gosh sakes if you can afford an Iphone with all of it's luxuries the least you could do is support a contract. I am shocked at Cingular's marketing the Iphone this way. It is a phone that should not be cheapened by losers who don't have enough money to buy the phone in the first place. Pay as you go people, stick with your free Nokia and be happy!

Oh Ron, Ron, Ron,

Your ignorance shouldn't astound me, but it does.

As an owner of 100 shares of AAPL I would love the pay as you go plan on the iPhone. I am one of those 'losers' who use Trakfone pay as you go. I'm paying $7.00 a month now because, like Peter, I make 5 to 10 calls a month on my cell and rely on e-mail and landline. My minutes keep piling up. Over 200 now. I've been making frivolous calls on it just to use up minutes.

Open your mind Peter. There are all kinds of people, who use their cell's in all kinds of ways. When the iPhone drops to under $300... I think I'll pick one up. I've been wanting a portable MP4 player.

I doubt the pay as you go plan will be offered initially. These companies are smart enough to sucker folks like Ron into buying a contract, then after a while, offer prepaid for those more savvy.

Ron, If you feel must support the providers contract system, just keep on throwing your money away as you please.

Kudos Bill for knowing a good thing when you see it.
